Maybe you would like to ramble back up the mountain on your own and explore a little closer some of the artifacts we saw on our trek. The best way to do this is to stay a few days and explore at your leisure.
At the base of Murrough Mountain we have 4 traditional style cottages that sleep between 10 and 7 people. The larger cottage is an original Burren farmhouse and has 5 bedrooms. This was the family home of John’s grandparents which we have extensively renovated while retaining the charm of the traditional farmhouse. This is situated on the old farmyard.
We built the other cottages in the same traditional style over 20 years ago. John did most of the carpentry and supervised the entire build. These are located at the bottom of the mountain, and each have 4 bedrooms and sleep 7 to 8 comfortably.
There is lots to do and see locally as well as lot of activities and great places to eat and drink. We are only a short stroll from Fanore beach with its pink sand and famous sand dunes. The local villages of Doolin to the south and Ballyvaughan to the north offer a great selection of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets.
